ESL Program
McDonald International Academy offers a comprehensive ESL program
designed to cover all the prerequisites necessary to master the English
language. Students may choose one of our 3 different programs (Intensive,
Semi-Intensive, Summer/Winter Program) to find the one that
best suits their needs and interests.
Upon a student’s arrival, they are given an English assessment
test and placed in one of the following levels:

Intensive Program
Our Intensive program offers 5 hours daily per week of ESL studies.
Mornings consist of 4 hours of our ESL fundamentals class. ESL fundamentals
teaches all the skills required to obtain English language proficiency
such as vocabulary, reading, writing, grammar, and oral skills. The
course content and emphasis on certain skills will vary based on each
level.
In the afternoon, students choose an elective course based on their
learning preferences.
Elective Classes
Since each student has their own strengths and weaknesses when developing
their English language skills, we provide elective classes to address
the specific weaknesses hindering a student’s English language
development.

Semi-Intensive Program
Our Semi-Intensive program offers 4 hours daily per week of ESL studies.
Student’s will be placed in our ESL fundamentals class in the
mornings. ESL fundamentals teaches all the skills required to obtain

grammar, and oral skills. The course content and emphasis on certain
skills will vary based on each level.

Self Study |
Summer/Winter Program
Our special ESL program for the summer/winter blends in class learning
with fun daily activities in Toronto and its surrounding areas. In
the mornings, students attend MIA’s ESL fundamentals course.
In the afternoon and weekends, students go on activities that are
not only fun, but reinforce lessons taught in class and offer the
chance to practice their newly acquired English skills in daily life.
An instructor is always present to help and guide students. Students
learn a new language while making new friends and memories to last
a lifetime.
This program runs for 4 weeks during the summer and winter months.
The program begins on the first day of every January, February, July
and August.
Price: $2700.00 CAD for 4 weeks
This complete package
includes:
1 month ESL studies (3.5 hours per day)
Homestay accommodations (breakfast and dinner included)
