Attendance Policy
Remember that regular attendance and daily effort are needed to success!
Attendance is taken in each class. If a student misses a test or exam
they may be asked to supply a medical certificate for the absence.
Regular attendance at school is critical for the student’s learning
and achievement of course expectations. Where, in a teacher’s
judgment, a student’s frequent absences from school are jeopardizing
his or her successful completion of a course, the teacher shall, when
possible, meet with the student to explain the potential consequences
of the absence, including failure to gain credit, and discuss steps
that could be taken to improve attendance.
After that, if the student’s attendance continues to be unsatisfactory,
the teacher can request the principal to counsel the student, or to
demit him or her from the class. |
