Descriptions Learning Techniques Seminar
and effective Oral Communication
In this course, students learn how to structure and deliver presentations,
facilitate effective problem solving sessions, and listen and respond
effectively to others. Speeches and discussions will be videotaped
and critiqued by the instructor and other participants to further
improve oral skills. Effective Written Communication
This course is designed to help students develop strategies to write
clearer, more concisely and efficiently. Students will learn to express
themselves more easily and with more confidence by applying the principles
of good writing. Business Fundamentals
This course covers the basic terms and concepts required to understand
today’s challenge of administration and management in the world
of business. Topics include: the economic roots and legal structure
of business today, current trends, and globalization of business.
Organizational Behaviour
This course teaches students an analytical approach to the research
and knowledge needed to understand the behaviour of individuals within
an organization. Through class discussions, students own experiences
in the workplace will enhance the course. Financial
Management for Non-Financial Managers
This course gives a solid foundation for understanding the basics
of accounting and financial management used in today’s organizations.
Topics include financial reporting, accounting process and budgets,
and performance evaluation. Principals for Human
Resource Management
The course will cover the essential elements of recruitment, selection,
performance management, training and development, compensation and
benefits. Other human resource functions, influences, and strategies
will also be profiled. Project Management
The course introduces the basics of project management including project
initiation, planning, controlling, and implementation. The course
will examine the role of the project manager and learn common project
management terminology. Communications in Management
This course focuses on effective written and oral communication in
a business setting. Emphasis will be on presentation skills, resume
writing, and other forms of business communication. Financial
Accounting
This course introduces basic accounting principles in measuring, reporting
and interpreting an organization’s financial information.
Fundamentals of E-Commerce
This course is designed to give students a current overview of the
world of electronic commerce. E-business models, new technologies
and other topics unique to e-commerce are discussed. Effective
Business Writing
This course introduces a wide range of writing forms including articles
and essays in relation to business research and analysis. Students
learn fundamentals of crisp, clean, marketable writing--including
paragraph and theme development. |
